Can we handle hazardous materials, oversized, or specialized freight for you?

Yes—we regularly handle hazardous materials (hazmat), oversized/over-dimensional loads, and other specialized freight for both LTL and FTL shipments.
Our network includes carriers with the necessary certifications, equipment, and expertise to move these loads safely, compliantly, and efficiently. Here's a breakdown of what we can accommodate and key considerations.
Hazardous Materials (Hazmat):
We support DOT-regulated hazmat shipments under proper classifications (e.g., Classes 1–9: explosives, flammables, corrosives, toxic substances, etc.).
Requirements: Shipper must provide accurate shipping papers (including proper shipping name, UN/NA number, hazard class, packing group), emergency response info, and certification that packaging meets DOT specs.
Equipment & drivers: Hazmat-certified drivers and trailers (placarded when required); some items restricted to FTL for safety/segregation.
Common examples we move: Paints, adhesives, batteries, chemicals, aerosols, lithium batteries, cleaning agents, etc.
Limitations: Certain ultra-hazardous materials (e.g., Division 1.1 explosives) may require special routing or be declined—always confirm specifics.
Best mode: FTL often preferred for control and segregation; LTL possible for smaller quantities if compliant.
Oversized / Over-dimensional / Overweight Loads
We handle loads exceeding standard dimensions or weights (e.g., >53 ft long, >8.5 ft wide, >13.5 ft high, >80,000 lbs gross).
Equipment options: Step-deck, double-drop, extendable flatbeds, lowboys, RGN (removable gooseneck), beam trailers, or specialized heavy-haul rigs.
Permits & escorts: We coordinate state/federal oversize/overweight permits, pilot/escort vehicles (when required by route), and route surveys.
Common examples: Construction equipment (excavators, cranes), large machinery, wind turbine blades, steel coils, bridge beams, industrial tanks.
Best mode: Almost always FTL due to dedicated space and securement needs.
Other Specialized Freight
High-value / fragile — Electronics, artwork, medical equipment (with enhanced security, air-ride trailers, or dedicated service).
Temperature-controlled extremes — Deep-frozen (-20°F or lower), high-heat processes, or multi-temp reefer.
Vehicles / rolling stock — Cars, trucks, boats (on lowboys or auto haulers).
Project cargo — Multi-piece, coordinated deliveries for construction or industrial sites.
White-glove / installation — Optional for certain loads (e.g., machinery setup).
How we handle these:
Upfront disclosure is required—tell us at quote time (or earlier) about hazmat class, dimensions, weight, UN numbers, or special needs so we match the right carrier/equipment and avoid rejections/fees.
Compliance check — We verify documentation, packaging, labeling, and placarding requirements.
Higher liability options — Declare value and/or add cargo insurance for valuable/specialized loads.
Quotes & lead time — These often take longer to quote (permits, equipment availability) and may require 3–7+ days advance booking.
If your freight falls into any of these categories, share the specifics (e.g., hazmat class/PG, exact dimensions/weight, item description, origin/dest)—we'll confirm feasibility, recommend the best setup (LTL/FTL/specialized), handle permits if needed, and get you accurate pricing.
